yeah, about that. why is everyone sick, anyway? is there some kinda alien virus i should know about and avoid? because from a newcomer's perspective this place seems like a disaster already.

[Not even thirty seconds pass, and there's a knock on Tetora's door. 9S himself looks mostly well, but clearly lethargic. His cheeks are flushed and his breathing's noticeable as his body goes through another cycle of overheating.]

[ it has the opposite effect because tetora is even less confident about this place's ability to survive than he was when he started out. ]

[ tetora opens the door and... promptly wrinkles his nose. ]

[9S makes a bit of a wry face in return.]

[He swings his leg just for emphasis.]

So get some coolant and fix yourself. Are you sure you're not contagious? I don't believe you're an android just because you said so, you're all... flushed and sticky.

[ tetora even touches 9s on the clothed shoulder with two fingers, just to test if he'll tip over or not. ]

That's on my to do-- [9S actually does stumble a bit at the push, but that's mostly because he already had one foot in the air. He quickly corrects himself, letting out an exasperated noise.]

H-hey, do you want me to show you to the medbay or not? I'm not sick. Androids don't get sick.

Just because you're saying it doesn't make it true. You're not an android until I see proof of it.

[ he does relent though, and steps out of the room to fall in step with 9s. ]

Do you want me to hold your hand or something...? You really look like you're gonna keel over.

[9S will starts to lead the way, but he's definitely dragging his feet.]

[ he's considering tripping 9s as it is. it'll be funny, he promises. he does dutifully follow 9s though. ]

[ the desire to do so is so strong... so so strong. tetora even edges a leg out, not quite tripping 9s yet but getting there. ]

[He conspicuously shoves the conversation off of himself.] When did you get here?

Who said we had to talk about me? [ he relents, at least, despite his own protests. ] I got here like, a couple days back. People weren't so sick yet.

There's no pharma guy at the medbay, right? We don't have to knock anyone out?

[He thinks it's a good thing the medbay is on the same floor, because they're not even halfway there and he already wants to lay back down.]

I'm good with not having welcome parties, actually. They seem like a lot of hassle.

[ he's making a bet with himself whether or not 9s will trip over on his own or with help. he's so close to tripping the guy up he can taste the floor in sympathy. ]

[He's definitely giving Tetora a wary look, stopping in the middle of the hall. He's definitely not going to lead him anywhere if he's hostile.

Tetora's also lost a valuable opportunity to trip him, for now.]

[ because while it's not entirely outside the realm of possibilities, it's... also a little hurtful, whoah. tetora stops along with 9s, and now there's two dumbasses in the middle of the hall having a stare-off. ]

Nooo? I mean, not until you brought it up first? [9S starts, honestly looking just as confused as Tetora. He rests his shoulder against the wall, heaving a sigh. This is all pretty exhausting. His head's starting to pound.]

If you tried to hurt him, I'd have to detain you, so-- Huh? My friend...?

[He squints, then widens his eyes.] Oh, you mean...

[ tetora shoves a hand at 9s this time, and it's not a gentle shove; 9s sways with the force of it, but doesn't trip over. tetora's trying to make a point here, and 9s is proving it. ]

You're a lot sicker than I am - especially for a so-called android - and you're going to detain me? How? You're gonna overheat at me?

[ tetora slings 9s's arm over his shoulders-- and what the hell, he's heavier than he looks. why? ]

Come on, tell me how to get to the med bay so I can stop watching you slow dance yourself to a coma.

[He stifles a noise as he's shoved, brow pinched together as he watches Tetora. He's not hostile--not even frustrated--just confused.]

That's not-- H-hey! [9S staggers as he's pulled forward, his arm thrown over Tetora's shoulder. He puts all his weight on him for a moment, as he's forced to re-orientate himself.]

You never even told me what kind of drugs you're looking for... [Being this close, the heat coming off of 9S is impossible to miss, and as his head slumps, his vision flickers.

Ah. This isn't good.]

[ don't be dead weight, don't be dead weight - tetora isn't in the mood to literally haul ass here, 9s. he hitches the other man a little higher, and shakes him to be more alert. ]

It doesn't matter right now, don't fall asleep on me yet. We're not anywhere near this medbay. Don't make me slap your face!

[The body heat coming off of Tetora is only making 9S' situation worse, but at this point he's already so exhausted that he can't bring himself to pull away. He lifts his head again as he's shaken, and exhales a deep breath.]

What a pain... [He grumbles.] Down the hall. Left-hand side.
